ADT doesn’t have a first responder discount for individuals. What it has is a program called LifeSaver, and that one puts money into police and fire departments after a rescue, so a firefighter, officer or paramedic buying an alarm system for their own house pays the same price as anyone else.
ADT sells home alarm systems and the monitoring that goes with them. Its home page title calls it a “Home Security Systems & Services Provider,” and its newsroom describes the company as a security and automation provider for residential and business customers. If you’re comparing systems before you buy, this page is the short version of what ADT does and doesn’t offer people who work in emergency services.
How To Get The ADT First Responder Discount
There isn’t a discount to enroll in. ID.me’s page for ADT says it isn’t aware that ADT offers First Responders discounts. ADT’s own site points the same way. Its home page and its deals page, both read in a browser because ADT’s site blocks automated readers, carry no first responder or military offer, and the addresses adt.com/military and adt.com/first-responders each lead to a 404 page, the same one you get for an address that doesn’t exist. GovX, which lists first responder and military discounts at many brands, has no ADT page either.
If a salesperson mentions a responder rate on the phone, ask for the terms in writing before you sign anything. A verbal rate isn’t something you can point to later.
If you buy ADT anyway, the one route to money back is a Fluz virtual card, which earns cash back on the card purchases you make with it. ADT’s Fluz page describes that card route rather than a named ADT offer, and Fluz’s rate moves, so check the current figure there before you count on it.
What The ADT LifeSaver Program Is
The name sounds like it should lower your own bill, which is why people look for it. In ADT’s newsroom, a LifeSaver celebration is an event for a customer who got through an emergency with ADT’s help. In one release, the family thanked the ADT employees who helped save them along with the first responders who came, and four ADT employees received “golden” LifeSaver Awards. ADT also presented money to the local police and fire departments at that event.
A second newsroom story describes the same pattern after a house fire. An ADT dispatcher received a LifeSaver Award for calling 911 and verifying the fire, and ADT donated money to the city’s fire and police departments for their quick response.
That’s real support for departments, and it’s worth knowing about if yours has been on the receiving end. It isn’t a discount. Neither story describes a way for an individual to apply, and neither lowers the price of a system for an individual buyer.
What The Cash Back Check Found
Cash back doesn’t change the picture much. Rakuten’s page under the name ADT is for ADT Health, and it says they don’t offer Cash Back with Rakuten. Price.com says cash back and coupons aren’t currently available for ADT. The Fluz virtual card above is a general-purpose card rather than an ADT offer, which is why this page is filed as unavailable instead of as a cash back post.
Q&A
Q: Does ADT have a first responder discount?
A: Not for individuals. ID.me says it isn’t aware of one, and ADT’s home page and deals page show none.
Q: What is the ADT LifeSaver program?
A: ADT’s newsroom describes it as celebrations for customers who survived an emergency, with awards for the ADT employees who helped and money for the police and fire departments involved. It isn’t a discount on your own system.
Q: Does ADT give military members a discount?
A: Nothing on ADT’s home page or deals page names one.
Q: Can I get cash back on an ADT purchase?
A: No named ADT offer turned up at the cash back sites checked. A Fluz virtual card is the general fallback, and its rate moves.
Q: Which home security company does give first responders a discount?
A: SimpliSafe runs a program for first responders that names police, fire and EMT. It’s covered on our SimpliSafe first responder discount page.
