Spring at Universal Orlando

So far this year has been relatively mild at Universal Orlando – save for an annual summer heatwave – yet this doesn’t mean nothing new has emerged; indeed spring was an active period of growth and development across the resort.

Universal Orlando made an unexpected and welcome announcement that its Fast and Furious Supercharged attraction would open early, on April 23. Originally set for opening in 2023, this marks the first time Universal has brought an experience from Hollywood into Florida theme parks — and boy is it spectacular.

Experience an intense and unforgettable adventure that transports you back in time with the Fast Family at its most iconic moments – one that stands alone as Universal Studios’ most thrilling ride ever! Be part of history now by embarking on this ride for yourself. It is all yours to experience and you will cherish every second.

Late July saw the second major opening of the season: Cinematic Celebration. This dazzling nighttime spectacle was by far the most ambitious ever attempted by Universal Orlando Resort over its 28-year history and featured elements from J.K. Rowling’s world outside of its confines of Wizarding World.

Debut of Legoland Florida was marked by the return of Hard Rock Hotel’s Despicable Me character breakfast and the launch of a weekly Acoustic Brunch featuring live acoustic performances alongside carving stations, salmon platters, and unlimited mimosas (for an upcharge). Later that same month saw Legoland Florida open up for business while Merlin Entertainments also introduced a 50 percent first responder discount at Orlando Eye, Madame Tussauds, Sea Life Aquarium at I-Drive 360 and more.
