How To Get The Amazon Music First Responder Discount

We couldn’t find an Amazon Music first responder discount, but Rakuten lists a cash back offer for it. ID.me says it isn’t aware of a first responder offer at Amazon Music, so cash back is the route we can point to. It’s open to anyone with a Rakuten account, so there’s no job check.

Amazon Music is Amazon’s music streaming service. If you listen on a long drive or at the station, the plan is a recurring cost, and a small return on the first payment is worth a few minutes of setup.

How To Get The Amazon Music First Responder Discount

There’s no badge-and-code price to claim, so cash back is the way to get something back. It works like this:

  1. Create a free Rakuten account, or sign in if you already have one.
  2. Open Rakuten’s Amazon Music page with the button below.
  3. Click through to Amazon Music from that page and start your plan in the same visit.
  4. Read the current cash back figure on Rakuten’s page before you sign up, since it changes.

We don’t print the figure because it moves.

What Rakuten Leaves Out

Rakuten pays cash back only on the first payment of a subscription plan. That makes this a fit for a plan you haven’t started yet, and it means a plan you already pay for isn’t the case it covers.

Subscriptions paid for with an Amazon gift card or an Amazon credit balance aren’t eligible. If you plan to pay that way, this route won’t earn anything, so pay with a card instead and keep it the same card when you sign up.

What We Couldn’t Read

Amazon’s own music pages wouldn’t load for us, so we can’t tell you what Amazon says about first responders. ID.me’s “not aware” line isn’t proof that nothing exists. Check Amazon’s plans page when you sign up. If it lists a first responder offer, use that instead, since a discount comes off the price before any cash back.

Where Amazon Does List A First Responder Offer

The one Amazon offer ID.me lists for first responders is on Amazon’s own devices, such as Echo speakers and Fire tablets. It isn’t a music offer, but if you’re buying a speaker to play your music on, it’s worth a look. Our Amazon Devices first responder discount post has the details.

Who This Helps

Anyone with a Rakuten account can use this, and it works for a plan on your own account or one you start for a family member. Compare the final cost with Amazon Music’s public price, and keep the plan, the billing period and the cancellation terms the same when you do.
