Heat Wave Visual takes 20% off your order if you’re a first responder, military member, veteran or government employee. You verify through VerifyPass, and it hands you a one-time code to use at checkout. Police, fire and EMT all count.
Heat Wave Visual is an independent eyewear brand based in California. It began as Party Shades Co. and became Heat Wave Visual under its two founders, Justin Hertel and Doug Karlson. The sunglasses are built so you can change the arms and lenses yourself, and the site’s menu also has sections for goggles, apparel, parts and accessories, safety and prescription.
How To Get The Heat Wave Visual First Responder Discount
The button below goes to Heat Wave Visual’s discounts page. Press its Get Discount button and verify your eligibility with VerifyPass. After you’re verified, you receive a one-time discount code to apply at checkout. The code box is in the upper right of the checkout page, labeled Gift Card/Discount Code.
The code is good for one purchase. For your next order, go back to the same page and repeat the steps to get a fresh one.
Who Qualifies
The page lists three groups: first responders (police, fire and EMT), military and veterans (active duty, veterans and retirees), and government employees (federal and local). The page doesn’t say whether other emergency roles, such as dispatchers, qualify, and it doesn’t say what VerifyPass asks you to upload. VerifyPass lists the same two offers for Heat Wave Visual, a military discount and a first responder and government discount, both at 20% off your order.
Check The Safety Rating Before You Order
If you wear glasses on shift or on the range, read this part first. Heat Wave Visual says not all of its shades meet the ANSI Z87 requirements, and that its custom Lazer Face, Vise, XL Vise and Regulator sunglasses do not meet Z87 or Z87+. The Z87 pairs are stamped on the inside arm and on the top right corner of the inside of the lens, so you can check the stamp when they arrive. The FAQ links to a search for the pairs that qualify.
Shipping, Returns And Warranty
Heat Wave Visual ships free on orders within the contiguous USA, with an estimated 5 to 10 business days. You have 60 days from the day you receive an order to send an item back in its original packaging for a full refund, and clothing can’t have been washed. The prepaid return label is free for store credit and exchanges, and on a straight return a $5.50 shipping fee comes out of your refund. The return policy adds that this doesn’t apply to RX orders. Every product carries a 12-month warranty against manufacturer’s defects, but scratched lenses aren’t covered.
If you’d like to try a pair on first, Heat Wave Visual has a store locator. The FAQ warns that stores won’t carry every customization option you see on the website.
