Castle Mountain takes 20% off midweek, non-holiday lift tickets for first responders, but the wording is for Canadian-based emergency personnel. The page names police, fire and EMS. It says nothing about first responders from the United States, so a US first responder should ask Castle before counting on it.
Castle Mountain Resort is in Pincher Creek, Alberta, Canada. The discount is on its tickets page, under a heading that reads First Responder / Military Discount, and the page says it applies to you and your immediate family members.
How To Get The Castle Mountain First Responder Discount
- Open Castle’s tickets page and find the First Responder / Military Discount section.
- Check the wording. The page says the offer is available to Canadian based emergency personnel, and it names police, fire and EMS. If you’re a US first responder, email or call Castle and ask whether it will honor your credentials before you drive north.
- Bring current service ID. The page says you must present current service ID at lift ticket pick-up.
- Buy in person. The page says the offer applies to in-person purchases only, so you won’t find it in the online store.
What The 20% Covers
The page says the discount applies to regularly priced full day, full mountain tickets only, and that it can’t be combined with any other offer or discount. The headline says midweek, non-holiday tickets, and the fine print lists blackout dates, so read both against your days off.
The offer covers you and your immediate family members, which is useful if you’re taking the kids. The page doesn’t say how many family members count or what proof they need, so ask when you arrive.
Planning The Day
Because the discount is for in-person purchases at lift ticket pick-up, plan to arrive with your service ID in hand and a little time before you want to be on the hill. The page puts the discount on regularly priced full day, full mountain tickets, so if Castle is running another ticket deal that day, ask which one is lower, since the page says the two can’t be combined.
If You’re A US First Responder
This is the part to be straight about. The page says “Canadian based emergency personnel,” and it doesn’t mention US agencies. Castle may well honor a US badge, but nothing on its page promises it. Ask before you plan a trip around it, and ask for the answer in writing so you have it at the ticket window.
