As coronavirus continues its destructive path across the nation, some restaurants are showing their gratitude by showing first responders they appreciate them. Many locations are offering discounts for firefighters, police officers and paramedics as a thank-you; others provide free food as part of coronavirus response efforts; still others have set aside one hour per day specifically for them – filling online orders as well as drive-thru orders online/drive thru orders at discounted rates!

Some offers are national while others can be specific to a location. Firehouse Subs and Hooters were among those offering local firefighters, police officers and EMTs in uniform a free medium sub on Oct 28. Krispy Kreme offers active and retired first responders alike a complimentary doughnut and coffee when showing their ID or badge (source).

Other offers are more accessible, available to any first responder with proper identification. Denny’s offers military & first responder discounts of 10% or higher depending on their location, while Texas Roadhouse allows them to save between 10-30% at participating locations (source). Sonic and Papa Murphy’s provide veterans & first responders in uniform an extra 10% off; some McDonald’s locations may even give first responders up to 15% discounts – just ask!

Dickies offers full-time first responders a 10% discount by enrolling in their Pro Program and verifying their identity through SheerID (source). At Heated Clothing 4 U, police, firefighters, EMTs and EMTs receive 15% off apparel when showing valid government ID cards; at YETI Service League members save an additional 5% by joining.
