Kwikset doesn’t give first responders a discount, and nothing on its site names a military, first responder or community program. The lock maker now sells select hardware direct on its own site as well as through retailers, so the useful question for your next purchase is where you buy, not which code to enter.
Kwikset is part of ASSA ABLOY, and its home page is titled Door Locks, Door Hardware, Smart Locks & Smartkey Technology. The catalog runs from deadbolts, knobs, handlesets and levers to electronic locks and padlocks. Two features show up across the page. SmartKey Security, which Kwikset says allows you to re-key your lock yourself in seconds, and a smart lock that lets you tap an iPhone or Apple Watch holding a home key to open the door. If your shift schedule means more than one person needs a way in, those are the details to compare.
How To Get The Kwikset First Responder Discount
There isn’t one to claim. The pages read were Kwikset’s home page, its support page, its customer service page and its where-to-buy page, and none mentions military, first responders or any other group discount. The addresses a program would normally use, /military-discount and /first-responder-discount, each return Kwikset’s standard not-found page, the same one a made-up address gets. ID.me, GovX and VerifyPass show no Kwikset offer.
If you buy from Kwikset anyway, the one route to money back is a general-purpose card. Fluz offers a virtual card that works anywhere Mastercard or Visa is accepted, including online and in-store through Apple Pay or Google Pay. Fluz has no page for Kwikset, so there’s no named Kwikset offer, and the card earns Fluz’s general rate, which changes. Price.com does list Kwikset, but its page says cash back and coupons are not currently available for Kwikset. Setting up the Fluz card takes identity verification and a linked bank account, so weigh that against the size of the order.
The Saving That Doesn’t Need A Code
Kwikset’s SmartKey Security is the one feature on the site that can save you money without any discount. Its support page has an answer titled How to re-key your SmartKey Security locks, a short sequence you do with the lock’s current key and the SmartKey tool, and it ends with the line “You have successfully re-keyed your lock.” Changing who has a working key doesn’t have to mean paying for a visit. Kwikset’s electronics technical support line, which the customer service page says is open 24 hours a day, is the place to ask about the smart locks.
Buying Direct Or At A Retailer
Kwikset’s home page says select hardware is now available direct on Kwikset.com, and its where-to-buy page covers the retailers that carry the rest of the line. A retailer’s own sales and programs belong to that retailer. Kwikset’s pages don’t spell out a return window for direct orders in the sections read, so check the retailer’s policy, or Kwikset’s at checkout, before you buy.
