Major Fitness gives first responders 5% off everything on its site, and you can verify through either ID.me or GovX. Pick one, verify once, and Major Fitness sends you a personal code for checkout.
Major Fitness sells home gym equipment. Its menu runs through Smith machines, power racks, benches and dumbbells, barbells and weights, and cardio, and its discount page shows products like the B52 All-In-One Home Gym Smith Machine, the F22 All-In-One Home Gym Power Rack and the Drone R1 Foldable Rowing Machine. There’s also a Home Gym Planner in the menu if you’re building a space from scratch.
How To Get The Major Fitness First Responder Discount
- Open Major Fitness’s discount page and sign up for or log in to a Major Fitness account. The site asks you to do this before verifying so the offer is tied to your account.
- Choose ID.me or GovX. Major Fitness says you only need to complete verification with one of them.
- Verify as a first responder. Major Fitness says final eligibility is decided by the partner you pick.
- Copy the unique code you receive and enter it at checkout.
Major Fitness says each code can only be used once and that it’s personal and non-transferable, so a code you generate can’t be passed around the station.
What The 5% Covers
Major Fitness’s FAQ says the 5% applies to all products on its website, which is a wider net than many equipment brands cast. The catch is that it can’t be combined with any other discounts. If the site is running its own sale on something you want, put the sale price next to the 5% price and take whichever is lower, because you can’t have both.
ID.me’s listing for Major Fitness reads “Extra 5% off and free shipping for First Responders.” Major Fitness’s own page doesn’t mention shipping, so look at the shipping line in your cart before you decide whether the free shipping applies to your order.
ID.me Or GovX
Both services land on the same offer. ID.me’s responder page says Major Fitness has a first responders discount and/or cash back offer, and GovX’s Major Fitness page says “Save up to 5%” with First Responder among its eligible groups. If you already have an account with one of them, use that one. If you have neither, either takes a few minutes to set up, and the account works at other stores too.
Who Qualifies, According To ID.me
Major Fitness’s FAQ lists first responders among the eligible groups and leaves the definition to the verification partner you choose, so ID.me and GovX each apply their own rules. ID.me’s own eligibility article is the one to read. It lists EMTs at the basic, medium or advanced level, plus paramedics and flight nurses; firefighters, whether career, volunteer or retired; law enforcement, including federal, state, local and campus police officers (active and retired), sheriff’s deputies, state troopers and corrections officers; federal agents from agencies such as the FBI, the DEA and the U.S. Marshals Service; and 911 dispatchers for select offers only. The article doesn’t say whether a particular offer counts dispatchers, so check before you count on it.
It’s just as specific about who doesn’t qualify. Nurses, doctors and other medical professionals aren’t considered first responders unless they’re specifically listed, such as a flight nurse or paramedic. The article also names ambulance drivers (unless you can document being an EMT or paramedic too), CERT team members, security officers, search and rescue team members and volunteer police reserves among the roles that aren’t eligible.
Who GovX Counts
GovX’s eligibility page says you’re eligible if you’re a federal, state or local law enforcement officer. It lists state police and highway patrol, sheriff’s departments, city police departments and correctional facilities, plus federal agencies that include the FBI, ATF, DEA, BOP and U.S. Marshals under the Department of Justice and ICE, TSA, CBP and Air Marshals under Homeland Security.
Firefighters qualify if they’re full-time or volunteer, and GovX lists municipal fire departments, the National Parks Service, the U.S. Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management. For emergency medical workers, GovX’s page says you’re eligible if you’re working in the emergency medical field, and it names EMTs and paramedics.
Once you join, GovX gives you a GovX ID you can use to verify at partner sites. GovX says you don’t have to upload documents or share sensitive information: you log in with your GovX ID and GovX handles the authentication.
