How To Get The Carhartt First Responder Discount
- Open Carhartt’s page on ID.me with the button below and select the offer for your group.
- You land on Carhartt’s website. Select the ID.me button, which most often shows up at checkout.
- Sign in to your ID.me Wallet, or create one if you don’t have one, and complete the verification for your group.
- After ID.me accepts it, select Allow to share your information with Carhartt.
Who Qualifies
Carhartt gives 15% to four groups: military members, nurses, first responders and medical providers. Pick the one that matches your job when you verify.
First responders can be active or retired. ID.me verifies EMTs and paramedics, firefighters (wildland firefighters included) and law enforcement officers. Law enforcement covers police officers at the federal, state, local and campus level, sheriff’s deputies, corrections officers and probation officers. Security officers, civilian staff and search and rescue team members don’t qualify.
Nurses have their own group, so you don’t have to be a first responder to get the 15%. ID.me counts registered nurses, LPNs, LVNs, nurse practitioners and CRNAs, along with certified nursing assistants, nurse aides, patient care technicians, school nurses, home health nurses and travel nurses. You need to have graduated from a nursing program and met your licensing body’s requirements for a nursing license.
If you work in the field, you may fit the first responder group instead. ID.me counts flight nurses, mobile intensive care nurses, pre-hospital registered nurses and transport nurses as EMTs. Other nurses don’t count as first responders, and Carhartt’s rate is 15% either way.
Medical providers include doctors, dentists, pharmacists, physical and occupational therapists, physician assistants, respiratory therapists and veterinarians. Certified medical assistants verify here too, since they can’t verify as nurses. Students, pharmacy clerks and billers and coders don’t qualify. Some retailers ask nurses to complete a medical provider verification for certain discounts, and ID.me lets you verify as both.
What Documents ID.me Accepts
Nurses start with a license lookup: you enter your state license type and license number. If ID.me can’t find you in its nurse database, you upload an ID card, an employment letter signed by an administrator, your nursing license or a pay stub. The document has to show your first and last name and an acceptable nurse position.
First responders upload one of these: an ID card, a training certification, a signed verification letter on official letterhead, a pay stub or a notification of personnel action. Your name and job title have to be on it. Paper IDs and federal ID cards are turned down, and so are expired IDs.
