Extra Space Storage

How To Get The Extra Space Storage First Responder Discount

We couldn’t find an Extra Space Storage discount for first responders. Its own FAQ describes a 5 percent military discount for active-duty members only, at select facilities near military bases, and no page we read names police, fire or EMS.

If you’re boxing up a house before a transfer or a bigger place, the storage bill is one you can shop around. Extra Space handles discounts facility by facility, so the useful move is a phone call and not a code.

How To Get The Extra Space Storage First Responder Discount

No first responder program turned up, so there’s nothing to verify online. This is what we’d do, in order:

  1. Call or visit the facility you’d rent from and ask whether it has any rate for police, fire or EMS. The FAQ says to contact your local facility about its military discount, so local managers are who decides what each location offers.
  2. Ask what promotions apply to a new rental where you are. The FAQ lists questions about first month free storage, sales and promotions, holiday sales and student discounts, and we only saw those question titles, not the answers.
  3. Get the monthly rent, any fees and the insurance cost in writing before you sign, so you can compare facilities on the same terms.

If you pay full price and want something back, the one route to money back is a Fluz virtual card, a general-purpose card that earns cash back on whatever you pay with it. Fluz’s Extra Space page is that general card and not an Extra Space offer, and its rate moves, so we don’t print one.

What The Military Discount Says

We read the FAQ in a browser. It says Extra Space is proud to offer active service members a 5 percent military discount, and that active-duty military service members with a valid military ID qualify. Select facilities near military bases offer it, and the FAQ recommends contacting your local facility to confirm. It applies to monthly rent before taxes, fees, insurance and other charges, it can’t be combined with other Extra Space discount offers, and the account must be in the active-duty member’s name because it doesn’t extend to spouses or other family members.

A separate storage tips page says certain locations offer military discounts for active service members and their families. The two pages disagree about family, so ask the facility. Neither one mentions first responders.

What The Cash Back Check Found

We looked for an Extra Space page on every cash back site we use. Fluz has a general card page, Rakuten sends the address to its home page, and TopCashback, Active Junky and Hoopla Doopla return not-found pages. MaxRebates sends it to its home page, which means it has no store page for Extra Space. There’s no cash back route to point you to.

What The Page Says About Terms

The discount page says nothing about sale prices or holiday sales. Ask the facility whether a current promotion can sit alongside whatever rate you’re quoted.
