Sunday River’s own website offers a military discount and doesn’t name first responders, but GovX has a listing for the resort that does include them. The listing doesn’t print a rate or a season, so we can’t tell you what the savings are, and we can’t confirm the program from the resort’s side.
Sunday River is in Newry, Maine, and GovX describes it as Maine’s mountain playground. The resort’s military page says Sunday River is proud to offer discounted lift tickets to military service members and their family members. It uses SheerID to validate status and hands back a one-time discount code for the online shop. The page is labelled with last season, which is one more reason to treat it as something to double-check, not a promise.
How To Get The Sunday River First Responder Discount
Because the program rests on a third-party listing, here’s the way we’d approach it before spending money on a ski weekend:
- Open GovX’s Sunday River Resort page. It carries the First Responder icon, and its text reads Save on 1-Day Standard Lift Ticket or 1-Day Peak Lift Ticket. No rate, price or season is printed there.
- GovX handles verification on its own side, so expect to sign in or join before you can see terms. We read only the landing page and didn’t go further.
- Before you drive north, call Sunday River’s ticket office. Ask whether the GovX offer is running this season, which days it covers, and how many tickets you can buy with it. We couldn’t confirm any of that from the resort’s pages.
- If you buy at full price and want money back, the one route to money back is a Fluz virtual card, a general-purpose card that earns cash back on whatever you pay with it. Its rate moves, and Fluz has no Sunday River page, so it isn’t a Sunday River offer.
The button above takes you to the Fluz card, since that’s the one cash back route we can stand behind. The GovX listing is worth checking first, and you’ll find it by name on GovX.
What Sunday River’s Pages Say
We read the military discounts page, the season passes page, the ticket packs page, the deals page and the home page. The only group discount named is the military one, and none of them lists first responders as a discount group. The season pass page does list the passes the resort sells, which include Sunday River Only, New England, Ikon and Mountain Collective passes and ticket packs, and it describes a Boyne Resorts pass with unlimited access across the company’s destinations. A made-up address on the site returned a 404 instead of a page.
That leaves a gap between what the resort says and what GovX says. GovX’s listing may be a current offer, an older one it hasn’t taken down, or one that applies only to certain days. We can’t tell which from here, so this page stays unconfirmed until the resort or GovX prints a rate and a season.
What The Cash Back Check Found
Fluz, TopCashback, Active Junky and Hoopla Doopla have no Sunday River page. Rakuten sends the Sunday River address to its generic homepage, and MaxRebates’ search shows no store page, though MaxRebates serves its home page for any store name it doesn’t carry, so that only rules out the names we tried. Price.com’s store directory has no Sunday River entry. With no named cash back offer at the sites checked, this page is filed as unavailable.
