On Friday, in honor of National First Responders Day, all area Firehouse Subs restaurants are honoring local first responders with free medium subs with any purchase made by firefighters, police officers and EMTs in uniform or possessing valid identification. Furthermore, Firehouse Subs is committed to supporting first responders all year-long; a portion of each purchase at Firehouse Subs in the US goes directly towards supporting its Public Safety Foundation which has already given away over $71 Million – over $1.2 Million of which was given out just in Wisconsin alone!
Kearney Police Department was recently granted a grant by the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, helping them reach car accident victims faster. Lightweight cutting, spreading and ram tools allow officers to safely extricate people more quickly from vehicles. Port Jervis Fire Department received another grant to use specialized ram tools more effectively rescuing more car accident victims; theirs break through vehicle roofs to gain access and remove trapped victims safely from dangerous situations.
