Gucci has joined forces with Major League Baseball to introduce an exclusive collection of sportswear that’s sure to hit a home run. The collaboration includes high-end pieces like varsity jackets and sneakers from its limited-edition line – available to shop now on Gucci.com. Last year, its collaboration with New York Yankees included jerseys, caps and sneakers which sold out quickly.
Bloomberg reports that Gucci’s move comes amid its efforts to strengthen its image among older shoppers and local buyers in Europe and America, where sales have been declining. Furthermore, an individual familiar with the brand indicated its goal was also aimed at cutting overproduction in its factories and decreasing inventory levels.
As part of its effort to boost sales, the company is offering discounts of 10-25% off certain items for those currently serving or have served in military, law enforcement, fire and rescue services or emergency medical personnel. These discounts can be used online, in-store and over the phone and can be applied towards clothing for men, women and children as well as accessories, footwear or bags for both adults and children.
