Vans’ latest collaboration with musician LL Cool J is helping the shoe company make its comeback, although CEO Gregg Bailey doesn’t consider it one. Instead, he often uses “Don’t Call It a Comeback” by LL Cool J as part of meetings with senior leaders at VF Corp.
San Antonio-area high schooler Roger Zamarripa is using his artistic talents to add puro culture to San Antonio. A junior at Edison High School, Roger is competing in this year’s Vans Custom Culture competition which sends blank shoes as canvases to students for them to design on.
Zamarripa designed his shoes as an homage to San Antonio’s River Walk, papel picado, and other elements. He is one of hundreds of high school students competing nationwide in this year’s annual contest which will come to an end June 28.
