Six Flags sells first responders a discounted one-day ticket through ID.me, for up to six people, and every park posts its own page for it. You buy online ahead of time: the pages say the discount isn’t available at the front gate. What changes from park to park is the price listed, so open the page for the park you’re visiting before you plan around a number.
Six Flags runs amusement parks and water parks across the country, and the former Cedar Fair parks, among them Cedar Point, Kings Island, Kings Dominion, Carowinds, Knott’s Berry Farm and Dorney Park, now keep their first responder pages on sixflags.com too. The wording is close to identical everywhere: exclusive discounts for military, retired military and first responders, tickets for family and friends, ID.me to verify.
How To Get The Six Flags First Responder Discount
- Open the first responder page for the park you’re visiting. The button below opens Six Flags Over Texas’s page as an example; every park has its own.
- Pick your date and tickets. The page lists the ticket as “Starting From” a price next to a gate price, so look at the price for the day you want.
- Register with ID.me, or sign in to your account. The page says you’ll be prompted to log in after you select your tickets.
- Buy up to six tickets for family and friends, and finish the purchase online.
- Check the total before you pay. The page lists a processing fee of up to $9.99 plus applicable taxes.
Plan on buying ahead, because the page is plain that discounts are not available at the front gate and all offers must be redeemed online. It also says the discount can’t be combined with any other offers, including sales, so if the park runs a public sale, compare the two totals.
Which Parks Have Their Own Page
The pages we read carry the offer at Six Flags Over Texas, Over Georgia, Magic Mountain, Great Adventure, Great America, Fiesta Texas, New England, Frontier City, Discovery Kingdom and Worlds of Fun. The former Cedar Fair parks on sixflags.com carry it too, and we’ve written those up separately: Cedar Point, Kings Island, Kings Dominion and Carowinds.
Not every tile is buyable. The ticket tile on the Darien Lake page and on the Hurricane Harbor Concord and Rockford pages reads Coming Soon. The Over Texas page also carries a banner calling the offer limited and prints no dates, so don’t wait on it if you’ve settled on a day.
Parks Six Flags No Longer Runs
Some parks that used to sit on the Six Flags list changed hands. Mid America Adventure near St. Louis, Great Escape in New York, Valleyfair, Michigan’s Adventure and Schlitterbahn Galveston now say they’re under new management, and their own pages publish a different offer: military and first responders get 10% off the ticket price at the gate. At Mid America Adventure the page asks for a work ID or an issued badge at the ticket booth, and Great Escape’s says the discount is only available at the front gate with valid ID. That’s the reverse of Six Flags, where you can’t use the front gate at all, so check which one your park follows.
Q&A
Q: Do I need ID.me for Six Flags?
A: Yes. Every Six Flags page we read says you must be registered with ID.me to qualify.
Q: Can I buy the discounted ticket at the gate?
A: No. The Over Texas page says discounts are not available at the front gate and all offers must be redeemed online.
Q: How many tickets can I buy?
A: Up to six, for family and friends.
Q: Does it stack with a sale or another promotion?
A: No. The page says the discount cannot be combined with any other offers, including sales.
Q: Which jobs count as first responders?
A: The park pages say first responders without listing jobs, so ID.me’s verification is the check that decides. If you’re unsure, start the ID.me process before you pick a date.
Q: Is there an offer at a Six Flags water park too?
A: Several Hurricane Harbor parks carry their own pages. See our Hurricane Harbor first responder discount page.
